The Chinese Medicine View of Health and Illness in Early Childhood
From infancy to adolescence, children are growing quickly and, at times, unpredictably. Accordingly, it is well recognized in Chinese traditional medicine that the ailments of young people require therapeutic strategies relevant to the constitution of the child, her age and developmental stage, and current environmental conditions and challenges. Fundamentally, youngsters should be kept comfortable and secure physically and not excessively stimulated mentally or emotionally. Over-excitement of the mind and senses will tend to accelerate intellectual development to the detriment of physical and emotional growth, thus creating an inequity between psyche and soma (Shen and Jing) that can develop into physical, emotional, and cognitive disturbances. This seminar will consider some of the common ailments of young children (colds, coughs, indigestion, failure-to-thrive, rashes, insomnia), how they arise and how they may be treated problematically and in relation to a child's Five Phase type using acupuncture, Chinese herbal remedies and nutritional supplements.

Living in a Holographic Universe
The holographic reality in which we have lived for thousands of years is dissolving as the Great Shift in consciousness starts to take effect. Despite the opportunity for a more unified and peaceful future, many will resist the change, clinging to the old paradigm having become dis-spirited and out of touch with the pulse of their soul. Change, however, is inevitable. This is a moment to remember that we're the Ones we've been waiting for. We are the ones whose consciousness will create the holographic reality for a whole new world. To achieve this, we must remember who we are, calling in all parts of ourselves that have become separated and integrate them into the heart, the vessel of transformation.
